Job summary

ICEYE in Valencia, Spain, seeks a Senior Operations Specialist (Flight Engineer) for the HAPS program. The role is on site with limited remote work, focusing on flight safety, system health, energy balance and thermal management during endurance flights.

You will advise the Mission Planner and Autopilot Operator and contribute to flight test campaigns and ground control station work. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in UAS/aircraft operations, strong telemetry and systems knowledge, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in UAS or aircraft testing and operations.
• Solid understanding of aircraft systems, avionics, electrical power and propulsion.
• Experience monitoring live telemetry, interpreting system data and diagnosing anomalies under time pressure.
• Good understanding of electrical energy systems such as batteries, solar power and power budgets.
• Clear communication and ability to work as part of a flight crew, including during long-endurance operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the health and status of the aircraft and its on-board systems in flight; assess impact on mission.
• Manage energy balance: SOC, solar power, and power budget for night operations.
