As part of the AMZL Finance team, you will join a group motivated by numbers, data, and insights to improve our business. We support and influence the AMZL organization by providing a holistic and financial perspective, acting as trusted business advisors. We collaborate with our partners to ensure leaders have the most up-to-date and reliable information to make the best decisions.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Leverage Amazon Logistic metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities by linking operations and financials. Understand the details of the cost structure to make thoughtful judgments in ambiguous environments where data may be difficult to procure.
  2. Build trusted partnerships with the business to influence and support tactical and strategic decisions, promoting improvements and cost reductions. Communicate data clearly and concisely in both written and verbal forms, driving critical business actions.
  3. Identify risks, evaluate impacts, propose changes, and implement improvements to address gaps. Lead projects to streamline processes and reports.
  4. Supervise and own the financial and operational planning processes to produce challenging yet feasible operational plans. Oversee all month-end procedures, including accruals and variance analysis between actuals, plans, and forecasts.
  5. Hire, develop, and mentor peers and team members, promoting knowledge sharing.

Basic Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Experience in accounts receivable or payable.
  • Experience applying KPIs to analyses.
  • Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
  • Experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, or standardize finance or business tools and processes.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data mining and business intelligence.
  • Experience as a lean sensei or working as a Quality Assurance Engineer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, CPA, or Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, or business; or a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Tableau.
  • Experience in continuous improvement projects to enhance controllership with measurable results.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
