About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance & Business Operations Manager to steer the development of our finance function. You create robust and trustworthy finance processes and analyses that enable leadership and investors to confidently derive the strategic decisions that make Tomorrow successful and at the same time you independently implement projects that drive our financial and operational success.

Your Main Tasks Will Include

Finance Department Steering & Transformation:

• Steer and continuously evolve the Finance Department with a focus on accounting, financial planning & analysis, controlling, tax management, and cash management.
• Optimize and own the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis

• Conceptualize and conduct monthly budget check-ins and business reviews with the department leadership to make sure we’re spending money efficiently and according to plan.
• Develop dynamic forecasts, complete with variance analyses and cash flow insights, to support proactive financial planning.
• Provide in-depth financial analyses to facilitate strategic decision-making.

Revenue Operations & Strategic Insights

• Collaborate with Data Science, Marketing, Sales and People teams to drive data-based decisions on marketing strategies, pricing or compensation structures.
• Monitor and forecast cash flows to ensure liquidity and support strategic planning. Develop and implement measures to optimize liquidity.
• Compliantly optimize the setup of our two legal entities with regard to inter-company law, costs and tax considerations.

Investor Communications & Funding Preparation

• Independently prepare monthly investor updates and provide critical input for board meetings.
• Coordinate financial and legal due diligence in collaboration with the COO and external legal advisors during funding rounds, ensuring comprehensive preparation for investor review.
• Play a key role in preparing for upcoming funding opportunities by ensuring our financial processes and reporting are investment-grade.
• Execute initiatives for liquidity optimization such as evaluating funding options like revenue-based financing and bank loans, and implementing these solutions.

Process Optimization & Administration

• Optimize processes for invoicing, collections, expense management, and other finance-related functions to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Oversee creditor and debtor management, payment approvals, and treasury operations.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and invoicing practices.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with People Operations on payroll support and other HR-related financial matters.
• Liaise with external advisors, including tax consultants and auditors, to ensure compliance and the adoption of best practices.

Qualifications We Are Looking For

Experience & Expertise:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance, controlling, or finance consulting within a startup environment; experience in a SaaS startup is a plus.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing strong financial processes and systems.
• You led the financial part of at least one major equity funding round in the startup environment either from startup or investor side.
• You possess strong legal and regulatory acumen, enabling you to optimize our legal structures across multiple entities and ensure compliance with international and German regulations.
• You hold an academic degree in business, ideally with a focus on finance, or have demonstrably acquired equivalent expertise through professional experience.

Technical & Operational Skills

• Deep understanding of finance and accounting principles, including German regulatory requirements.
• High proficiency in google sheets / Excel modeling is required.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as DATEV, Spendesk, Notion.
• Familiarity with technology-driven process improvements, including platforms like Hubspot and Stripe.
• Knowledge of BigQuery/SQL and Looker Studio is a plus.
• Experience with legal and tax VAT optimization, inter-company law.

• You communicate with clarity and empathy: You can translate complex financial topics into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders. You enjoy working cross-functionally, are service-minded, and know how to adapt your communication to different audiences. Fluent English is required; proficiency in German (especially in the context of accounting) is a strong plus.
• You think strategically, act pragmatically: You bring strong analytical thinking and connect the dots between finance, operations, and business strategy.

Location:

• Preferably based in or near Berlin. While remote work is supported, regular in-office collaboration at our Berlin office is advantageous.
