Descripción del empleo

Charles Taylor InsureTech is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior ETL Developer to join our Data Management team. In this role, you will play a key part in the successful delivery of data migration and data integration solutions across core insurance systems. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust ETL processes, ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of large volumes of data from legacy platforms to modern target systems, while also supporting downstream data consumption for reporting and analytics.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with ETL tools, strong SQL and scripting skills, and a passion for clean, reliable, and high-quality data. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Data Architects, and Technical Leads to translate complex business and data requirements into scalable, high-performance ETL solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL processes to support data migration and / or data integration from legacy systems to modern core insurance platforms.

Analyze and profile source system data to understand structures, relationships, and quality issues across insurance-related domains such as policies, claims, billing, and customer information.

Collaborate with Business Analysts and Data Architects to interpret data mapping specifications and convert business requirements into efficient technical solutions.

Implement complex data transformations, cleansing routines, and validation rules to ensure high-quality and consistent data in the target environment.

Develop, execute, and document comprehensive test plans for ETL workflows, including unit testing, integration testing, and support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Optimize ETL performance for handling large volumes of insurance data and ensure scalability and efficiency of the data pipeline.

Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues, discrepancies, and ETL performance bottlenecks across different phases of the project.

Build and maintain stored procedures, views, and advanced SQL queries to support both migration and reporting needs.

Work closely with DBAs, infrastructure teams, and application developers to ensure seamless integration and data flow across systems.

Contribute to project delivery by adhering to timelines, maintaining high-quality technical documentation, and participating in project planning and reviews.

Required Skills

Proven experience as an ETL Developer (typically 3–5+ years), with a strong focus on data migration projects.

Proficiency in one or more leading ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and relational database design.

Advanced SQL skills for data querying, transformation, and validation across various RDBMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL).

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Perl) for automation tasks and implementing complex data transformations is highly desirable.

Familiarity with insurance industry data domains (e.g., policies, claims, underwriting, billing, client data) and business processes is a strong advantage.

Knowledge of data quality frameworks, cleansing techniques, and best practices in data validation.

Ability to interpret data mapping specifications and implement corresponding ETL logic efficiently.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and their associated data services is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
