Formación

  • Experiencia en gestión de equipos y desarrollo de personas.

Descripción del empleo

Mission:

As Senior Engineering Manager for Adevinta Spain, your mission will be to develop high performing multidisciplinary teams that deliver value continuously and maximize it in the long term, as well as to help engineers with their career development in order to achieve their maximum potential as fast as possible, while keeping their contribution at the highest level.

Part of your responsibilities will be planning and executing long term business and tech strategies. Further, you will be representing the technical area in a Business Cluster, acting as an influencer and change driver to each initiative.

Main responsibilities:

  • You will be the line manager for 2 teams doing 1o1s, dev talks, performance reviews, hiring, holidays, onboardings and other personnel actions. All the engineers in your teams will be your reports.
  • Your teams will be preferably inside the same cluster (cluster is a team aggregation sharing business goals).
  • You will be autonomous to manage the cluster teams composition, aligned with the cluster team and the Engineering Director and other EMs when needed.
  • Acting as a Servant Leader and using our SST framework you will make your teams high performant and reach high levels of autonomy and self-sufficiency (solving conflicts, managing dependencies, achieving business goals, improving continuously, increasing performance, etc.)
  • You will be accountable for the projects where your teams are involved even when the scope is broader than only tech and requires collaboration with other stakeholders. You will need to help with project coordination and provide guidance from the tech perspective, involving the right people at the right time, but not acting as tech expert or consultant to all technical aspects. In some projects that accountability would be shared with other key players, like EMs of other involved teams, Product Managers or Project Managers.
  • Agile best practices fostering and adoption inside teams will be part of your accountability.
  • As Engineering Manager (EM) you may be a member of the cluster team, being responsible for aligning business needs with the tech strategy participating in OKRs and cluster roadmap discussions.
  • You will plan and execute long term strategies that benefit your team, cluster and Marketplace.
  • You will have to balance with pragmatism the short term needs with long term sustainability of your teams' tech stacks aligned with Product needs (i.e. keep technical debt under control, ensuring that teams react on health metrics, etc).
  • You will foster a feedback culture based on Radical Candor creating a psychologically safe environment.
  • As EM, you will shape and protect Adevinta's culture using day by day communications, team dynamics, sharing and asking for feedback and being a role model in our behaviors.
  • You will not make deep technical decisions; we don’t expect you to be the strongest technician. Those decisions will be made by senior individual contributors instead, but you will need to be up to date with the industry technical standards.

  • Technical skills: Be familiar with the concepts of accelerate metrics and capabilities, testing, AWS, distributed systems, SOLID, java, kotlin, reactjs, microservices, kafka, etc.
