Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Engineering Manager to join our team in Madrid. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with a strong technical background and exceptional organizational skills. The Senior Engineering Manager will play a critical role in managing Bigdata Store engineering projects, ensuring accountability, and optimizing operational processes within the dev / ops department.

The Bigdata Store is an innovative platform designed to provide seamless access to vast collections of structured and unstructured datasets. These datasets can be directly accessed by the Bigdata AI assistant and through its API, enabling businesses, researchers, and developers to leverage data-driven insights more effectively. The product will cater to business and finance users, by providing relevant and timely data that enhances decision-making processes.

As part of a newly established team based in Madrid, you will work in a focused and independent way to deliver the Bigdata Store. The team shall comprise developers, product managers, and project management professionals. Everyone is expected to be excellent at what they do and be driven towards success.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Oversee the planning, execution, and ongoing support of Bigdata Store engineering projects.
2. Hire and manage a cross-functional technical team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
3. Collaborate with Product Management and Project Management to agree on specifications, resources, and schedules.
4. Track project milestones and deliverables, providing regular updates.
5. Implement processes to monitor team performance and ensure accountability for project tasks.
6. Identify and address any roadblocks or challenges that may impact project timelines.

Technical Oversight :

1. Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams as needed.
2. Ensure adherence to technical standards and quality assurance protocols.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and specifications.

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or Management Training is a plus.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role, with at least 5 years in a coordination or management capacity.
3. Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
4. Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successful project delivery.
5. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
6. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
