Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong data center experience in Madrid. You will lead MV/LV system design, develop critical power infrastructure, and guide junior engineers across project lifecycles, from concept to construction support.

Applicants should have 6+ years in electrical design for mission-critical facilities, proficiency in English and Spanish, and hands-on experience with ETAP, Caneco, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 6 years of experience in electrical design, with experience in Data Centers, mission-critical facilities, or similar high-performance environments.
• Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Proficiency with ETAP, Caneco, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of MV/LV electrical systems for Data Centers.
• Develop critical power infrastructure including substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, STS, PDUs, and grounding systems.
• Define and review redundancy architectures (N, N+1, 2N, 2N+1).
• Perform and review electrical studies such as load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and reliability analyses.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary designs and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Review calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, and proposal development.
• Support the development of energy-efficient and sustainable electrical solutions for mission-critical facilities.
