Arup in Madrid seeks a Senior Electrical BIM Coordinator to lead BIM production for electrical systems on national and international projects. You will coordinate models, ensure high-quality deliverables, and implement BIM standards across the project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams, plus advancing digital processes and automation to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Technology, or equivalent in construction/digital design.
• Minimum 5-6 years’ experience in Structural BIM Modelling.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit for building services projects, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM production of electrical systems for projects.
• Coordinate modelling activities within the electrical discipline.
• Manage quality and accuracy of BIM models and deliverables.
• Coordinate electrical models with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams.
• Oversee drawings, schematics, schedules and documentation from BIM models.
• Participate in design reviews and QA processes.
• Identify, manage and track modelling and coordination issues.
• Contribute to BIM libraries, templates, and families.
• Promote automation tools and digital processes to improve efficiency.
• Support BIM best practices in information management environments.
• Provide technical guidance to team members.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated professional to lead BIM management for the electrical discipline, coordinating models, resources, and deliverables, Contribute to the implementation of digital processes, BIM standards, and information management best practices throughout the entire project lifecycle, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a highly digitalised environment.

As a Senior Electrical BIM Coordinator at Arup, you will:

• Lead the BIM production of electrical systems for national and international projects.
• Develop, review, and coordinate electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
• Plan and coordinate modelling activities within the electrical discipline.
• Manage the quality, consistency, and accuracy of BIM models and associated deliverables.
• Coordinate electrical models with architectural, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
• Oversee the production of drawings, schematics, schedules, and technical documentation derived from BIM models.
• Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and quality control processes.
• Identify, manage, and track modelling and coordination issues.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of BIM libraries, templates, and families.
• Promote the use of automation tools and digital processes to improve project efficiency.
• Work within collaborative information management environments and support the implementation of BIM best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Higher Technical Qualification, or equivalent qualification related to construction, engineering, or digital design.
• Minimum 5-6 years’ experience in Structural BIM Modelling.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with different disciplines and technical teams to ensure the successful integration of information and BIM deliverables.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit for building services projects, and AutoCAD.

We Also Value

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Forma, ACC, and/or BIM360.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and electrical system schematics.
• Experience with Navisworks, Solibri, or other BIM coordination tools.
• Ability to lead tasks, organise priorities, and coordinate project resources.
• Knowledge of Dynamo, Python, or other automation tools.
• Experience with OpenBIM workflows and IFC model exchange.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 and information management principles.
• Experience in BIM coordination of low-voltage, medium-voltage, lighting, special systems, and telecommunications installations.
