Cybersecurity Researcher and Team Leader
Vicomtech is seeking to strengthen its Protection, Identity Management, and Trust Guarantees team, focusing on technologies such as biometrics, applied cryptography, and immutable information recording. We are looking for a candidate with technical, scientific, and team management skills for applied research activities in cybersecurity and cybercrime.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining strategy and roadmap for digital security within Vicomtech's 'Protection and Trust' research line.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with industry partners, research entities, and clients.
- Coordinating research teams and collaborating with researchers and external partners on national and international applied R&D projects.
- Promoting scientific publications and guiding research activities.
- Supporting research proposal development aligned with industry needs.
- Providing technical leadership and managing projects related to information protection, trust, or biometrics.
- Engaging with stakeholders and industry standards, and disseminating research outcomes.
Candidate requirements:
- PhD with at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience and proven expertise in digital security.
- Experience managing research projects, including technical management of projects with budgets of at least €450,000.
- At least 6 indexed scientific publications.
- Deep knowledge in a scientific or engineering specialization with the capacity to propose new research directions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, responsibility, and resilience under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish at C1 level or higher.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in areas such as identity management, Self-sovereign Identities, Federated Access Control, biometrics, traceability, forensics, blockchain, or data protection.
- Strategic thinking, trend analysis, open-mindedness, and a global perspective.
- Strong networking skills and a record of IP or patents.
