We currently need to strengthen the protection, identity management, and trust guarantees team, which includes the use of technologies such as biometrics, applied cryptography, or immutable information recording.
We are looking for a person with technical, scientific, and team management skills for applied research activities in cybersecurity and cybercrime (according to your particular profile).
The selected candidate's activities will include:
- Active participation in the definition of the strategy and roadmap for digital security at Vicomtech through the 'Protection and Trust' research line.
- Generation and maintenance of business and research relationships within Vicomtech and with partners and customers.
- Coordination of research teams and collaboration with researchers from various areas, as well as with customers and external partners, in national and international applied R&D projects.
- Promotion of scientific publications and research orientation of Vicomtech's activities.
- Support in defining research proposals that address industry needs, transforming industrial needs into applied R&D proposals.
- Technical leadership and participation in managing projects related to information protection, trust, or biometrics.
- Engagement with stakeholders and industry standards, including communication and dissemination activities.
Candidates must have:
- A PhD with at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience and demonstrated experience in digital security aspects.
- Proven experience managing research projects, with at least one project managed with a budget of €450,000 or more.
- At least 6 indexed scientific publications.
- In-depth knowledge and ability to propose new research lines in a specific scientific or engineering area.
- Problem-solving skills and responsibility under pressure, with willingness to tackle challenging problems.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills for research teams.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish at C1 level or equivalent.

- Experience in identity management, Self-sovereign Identities, Federated Access Control, Biometric systems, Traceability systems, Forensics, Blockchain, or Data Protection.
- Strategic thinking, ability to set objectives and roadmaps, awareness of technological trends, open-mindedness, and a global vision.
- Proven relational skills for networking and establishing strategic contacts in industry, institutions, and academia.
- Extensive record of IP technologies and patents.
