Accountable is a young fintech / taxtech focused on helping the self-employed to automate their accounting and taxes with a simple mobile and web app. We are 60+ people spread over offices in Berlin and Brussels as well as remote locations throughout Europe.

We aim to create a product which is incredibly easy and fun to use, requiring no knowledge of tax or accounting. We’re growing at a rate of more than 150% per year, and our ambition is to become the European leader in our market.

The job

We are seeking a dedicated DevOps Engineer to own our AWS infrastructure, drive best practices for reliability and automation, and streamline our CI / CD processes. The ideal candidate has a strong command of AWS services (EC2, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.), experience managing MongoDB databases, and is capable of maintaining and expanding our continuous integration pipelines. Bonus points if you have hands-on expertise with Node.js and TypeScript, enabling you to debug and collaborate with the development team effectively.

Responsibilities :

  • Configure and manage AWS resources (EC2, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Lambda, CloudFormation) to ensure availability, scalability, and security.
  • Design, implement, and operate CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate testing, building, and deployment.
  • Champion a DevOps culture by building tools, processes, and infrastructure that enhance developer productivity and system reliability.
  • Establish robust monitoring solutions and incident response processes, leveraging tools like CloudWatch and other AWS-native services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, QA) to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Provide recommendations and implement best practices for infrastructure optimization, cost management, and system security.
  • Manage and maintain MongoDB instances, ensuring data consistency, performance, and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and production incidents.

Required Qualifications :

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Lambda, etc.).
  • Proven ability to design and implement CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc.)
  • Practical knowledge of Node.js / TypeScript and Express.js frameworks.
  • Experience administering and optimizing MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of container technologies (e.g., Docker) and infrastructure as code.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Amazon CloudWatch, Datadog).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed teams.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

  • Experience with microservices.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks to better understand full-stack performance considerations.
  • Experience with Datalake management
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines for mobile and web applications (React Native / React)
