As a Senior SAP BTP Developer (m / f / d), you will lead the design and implementation of innovative solutions in the SAP BTP environment, ensuring performance, security, and scalability. You will collaborate with architects, frontend developers, and product teams to deliver high-impact, scalable enterprise solutions. The role focuses on building robust solutions using SAP BTP and AWS, with opportunities to work across both platforms. The goal is to manage the product lifecycle in all stages: design, architecture setup, prototyping and development with a continuous delivery orientation.

Your responsibilities

• Designing and developing complex, robust, scalable and secure SAP BTP solutions that meet the functional and technical needs of the product; also integrating with other SAP modules and third-party services.
• Building, integrating and deploying state-of-the-art architectures for SAP applications on SAP BTP and designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure backend solutions using SAP BTP tools, such as SAP Cloud SDK and APIs.
• Setting the necessary guidelines to be aligned with SAP strategy for the architecture and design of SAP BTP solutions.
• Working in an iterative CI / CD DevOps environment, focused on product releases and their evolution.
• Collaborating with frontend developers, UX / UI designers, and architects to ensure seamless integration of backend and frontend systems.
• Developing and optimizing RESTful APIs for data exchange between SAP BTP and other external systems.
• Staying up to date on the latest SAP BTP features and industry trends; this is an R&D role, so a proactive and innovation-oriented mindset is expected.
• Elaborating technical documentation and contributing to functional documentation.
• Providing technical leadership by mentoring junior developers and promoting best practices in development, security, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues across the SAP BTP environment, providing production support when needed.
• Ensuring solutions meet performance, security, and compliance requirements in line with industry standards.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or any IT related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP BTP architecture and development
• Awareness of the different partner product deployment options offered by SAP BTP.
• Having an ABAP background is a great plus, especially using RAP and ABAP Cloud (Steampunk).
• Deep knowledge of SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) (preferably with node.js), SAP HANA, and SAP BTP services.
• Strong experience in backend development, including Node.js, Java, or other relevant programming languages.
• Proven ability to design and develop scalable, secure backend solutions using SAP BTP services and tools.
• Expertise in SAP Fiori Elements and SAP UI5 integration for delivering full-stack solutions.
• Experience with SAP Cloud SDK, OData, and RESTful API design.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
• Experience in designing architectures is a plus.
• Experience developing applications for S / 4HANA public and private cloud editions is a plus.
• Some knowledge of the SAP BTP Integration Suite can also be very useful.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across SAP BTP environments.
• Proven experience working with remote, cross-functional teams and coordinating across global locations.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA or Confluence.
• Problem-solving attitude and solid communication skills; English is necessary, but German and Spanish are nice-to-have.

Mandatory Requirements

• Nationality or Work Authorization: Spanish or Portuguese nationality, or a permanent work permit / VISA for Spain or Portugal.
• Language Proficiency: Advanced level of Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
