The Role

We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails developer with a strong technical background and a passion for clean, test-driven development to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys building robust web applications, and wants to work on technology that is shaping the future. You will play a pivotal role in developing the backend infrastructure that powers our AI agent platform and ensures its reliability and scalability.

What You'll Do

Backend Development : Design and build scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails, following best practices and clean code principles.

Test-Driven Development : Write comprehensive test suites using RSpec, ensuring code quality and maintainability through TDD practices.

API Development : Create and maintain RESTful APIs that integrate seamlessly with our AI agents and client applications.

Database Design : Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and migrations for optimal performance.

System Integration : Build integrations between our platform and third-party services, ensuring reliable data flow and communication.

Code Review & Mentoring : Participate in code reviews and collaborate with the team to maintain high development standards.

Performance Optimization : Monitor and improve application performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions.

Strategic Collaboration : Work directly with the founding team and engineering team to shape our technical architecture and development practices.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of proven experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments.
• Strong expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD) with RSpec or similar testing frameworks.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and database optimization.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to debug complex applications.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with background job processing (Sidekiq, Resque).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Understanding of CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of caching strategies (Redis, Memcached).
• Experience working in startups or agile environments.
• Understanding of security best practices in web development.
