Formación

Descripción del empleo

The candidate would support DEIMOS in several projects reporting to the head of Systems Engineering Competence Centre and will work collaboratively with team members across all subsystems. The candidate will be focused on the field of thermal control and thermal protection subsystems (including but not limited to design and analysis activities, support across the implementation, testing and validation tasks).

The Systems Engineering Competence Centre is responsible for the overall technical architecture and development of space systems and satellite platforms, from initial concept definition up to on-orbit operations support. Currently, DEIMOS is working on several projects for ESA and the commercial market to provide cutting edge technologies for earth observation or communication satellites as well as scientific missions.

Main Duties:

The person in charge of this position would support DEIMOS on the current and upcoming projects regarding thermal engineering activities for satellite systems.

Candidate main tasks and responsibilities, if selected for this position, will include:

  1. Technical support and studies across DEIMOS projects in the thermal control area, throughout all project phases;
  2. Performing analysis as required to support thermal subsystem architecture definition;
  3. Monitoring and follow-up of applicable scientific and technological trends while maintaining state-of-the-art expertise within the company;
  4. Participating in feasibility studies, project reviews and the evaluation or generation of technical proposals;
  5. Contributing to the dissemination activities not only within the company but also externally (publications, papers etc).
Education:

Preferred Aerospace Engineer

Professional Experience:

3-5 years in Aerospace Industry.

Technical Requirements:

The candidate must be an experienced thermal engineer, capable of assuming responsibilities within the project or proposals assigned. The candidate should have some, but not all, of the skills below:

  1. Experience in spacecraft thermal engineering, related technologies and a general knowledge of space thermal control subsystems.
  2. Knowledge of Thermal analysis and design tools: CATIA, ESATAN-TMS.
  3. Knowledge of other thermal analysis tools is also desirable: SINDA / FLUINT; SYSTEMA, NX Thermal.
  4. Knowledge of MBSE philosophy.
  5. Detailed knowledge of the systems and subsystems encompassing a spacecraft.
  6. Knowledge of New Space approach and techniques.
  7. Knowledge of low-level integration and testing techniques.
  8. Experience in writing relevant technical and project implementation documentation.
  9. Expertise performing tasks to analyse technical data, verify and sustain specific systems configurations in accordance with defined constraints and driving / operational / technical requirements (following ECSS techniques).
  10. Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
Desirable Skills:
  1. Knowledge of Capella MBSE Tool and / or Valispace.
  2. Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
  3. Technical writing, knowledge of ECCS or other space related standards.
Language Skills:

English (B2 level as minimum)
