About the job: SENIOR DATA GOVERNANCE ANALYST

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst who will play an integral role in executing the bank's enterprise data governance framework and support the Senior Manager of Analytics and Governance, who has primary responsibility for enterprise-wide data governance activities.

The incumbent is responsible for monitoring and maintaining a robust data governance environment, primarily through data risk assessments and ensuring the timely assignment and remediation of data incidents. The Senior Data Governance Analyst acts as a liaison between the data governance team and business unit data stewards, ensuring that data management policies and procedures are communicated and embedded within the lines of business. You will actively participate throughout the engagement cycle, focusing on solutions related to data governance, data quality, and data classification.

Responsibilities:

1. Administers the Enterprise Data Governance program by establishing processes to support data management practices, ensuring compliance with the bank's data governance and management policies.
2. Reviews data management practices with the Senior Manager to ensure awareness and compliance, recommending updates to processes, policies, or business activities as necessary.
3. Analyzes the effectiveness of data management processes across technology and business units to identify gaps and reduce data risks.
4. Conducts monitoring of adherence to data management processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Develops and maintains relationships with unit leaders, data owners, data stewards, and data custodians to ensure clarity and consistency in data management and governance practices.
6. Assists in assessing data risks from projects, products, and initiatives to ensure risks are identified and mitigated.
7. Supports data owners and stewards in resolving data incidents and developing action plans with realistic deadlines.
8. Tracks and monitors data incidents, ensuring remedial actions are executed as scheduled to minimize exposure.

Requirements:

1. 7-10 years of banking experience, with proven governance and control background, including KCARs, SOX, and quarterly assertions.
2. Understanding of the banking data environment.
3. Knowledge of data governance practices, enterprise data management issues, and approaches.
4. Strong consulting skills, including change management, communication, and performance measurement.
5. Experience in risk management, control testing, remediation, and reporting.
6. Deep understanding of process improvement, risk, control, and deficiency management.
7. Good knowledge of banking process flows and controls development.
8. Bachelor's degree in fields like Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.
