AWS is seeking a Senior Data Centre Design Manager to lead the design of data centres within the Europe, Middle East & Africa region and support global projects. You will work with Architects, Engineers and Designers to ensure uptime, security, efficiency and cost effectiveness while solving complex challenges.

The role involves directing conceptual designs, budgeting, scheduling, RFPs, and coordinating with internal customers and external consultants throughout construction and deployment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Experience in data center or mission-critical facilities is preferred.
• PE or architectural license is desirable and knowledge of codes is important.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Data Centre Design Manager to join its Data Centre Design Engineering team in Dublin, Ireland. Our team is responsible for achieving a world class uptime for our customers and drive to develop a fleet of buildings that emphasize security, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness, while finding new ways to meet AWS\'s growing demand. As a Senior DC Design Manager at AWS, you will lead designs for AWS Data Centres in our Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) geography and impact other projects around the world. As a Senior DC Design Manager, you will be part of a highly creative and efficient design team comprised of Architects, Engineers, and Designers tasked with solving problems and challenging the status quo. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we\'re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key Job Responsibilities

• Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction;
• Creating and tracking metrics related to cost, quality and duration of design as well as collecting data from construction and commissioning teams as designs are implemented. Establishing capital project design budgets and contributing to complex business cases for existing region and new region deployment. Collaborating with AWS finance teams to secure funding for projects;
• Working in partnership with AWS Engineering leads to schedule engineering resources and influence design changes based on internal customer needs;
• Partnering with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and deliverables. Create, review, and release design RFPs. Manage our external design consultants through the design and construction process. Coordinate with internal and external Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Cabling design engineers;
• Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability. Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with design consultants. Anticipated travel not to exceed 25%;
• engage and manage the work of permitting and design consultants
• Complete after-action reviews and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or a related field
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience as technical specialist in design and architecture

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
