Ookla is seeking a Data Architect to lead the evolution of our data platform that powers Speedtest and other data products. You will design scalable data models, storages and pipelines to meet real-time analytics, AI/ML integration, and compliance requirements.

You will collaborate with data science, product engineering, and stakeholders to translate business strategy into technical vision while maintaining data governance and security standards. A strong communication skillset is essential.

Formación

• Extensive experience in software and data architectures, focusing on large-scale data lakehouses.
• Strong fluency in Python, Go or Java and SQL with experience in modern databases.
• Experience with streaming/big data processing and AI/ML integration is a plus.
• Background check is required.

Responsabilidades

• Creating and evolving architectural roadmaps for the data platform, ensuring alignment with product goals and long-term technical scalability.
• Turn product requirements into viable and scalable data architectures and implementations in a high data volume environment.
• Act as a bridge between data science, product engineering, and stakeholders to translate business strategy into technical vision.
• Establish and follow data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
• Raising the technical bar by mentoring senior engineers and architects on complex data modeling and distributed system challenges.
