Ookla is seeking a Principal Architect to lead architectural development across Ekahau, Speedtest Pulse, and Speedtest Certified, guiding multi-year roadmaps and ensuring scalable, secure, and future-proof systems. You will act as a key advisor to senior leadership and bridge business strategy with technical execution.

The role requires hands-on expertise in software and data architectures, excellent communication skills, and a track record of elevating engineering standards across teams.

Formación

• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on architecting full-stack SaaS applications.
• Expert level fluency in modern backend and cross-platform technologies (Java, Kotlin, Typescript, Postgres) and AWS.
• Deep understanding of service-oriented and layered architectures.
• Collaborative leader who communicates plans to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• 10+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Background check is required.

Responsabilidades

• Defining and evolving Ekahau’s multi-year architectural roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Run architectural governance and reviews to ensure consistent technical standards.
• Architect complex, high-availability services and set company-wide standards.
• Act as a bridge between engineering teams and product stakeholders.
• Mentor senior engineers and architects to elevate technical standards.
• Identify system-wide risks and proactive practices to prevent technical debt.
