Descripción del empleo

As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to ensure the availability and reliability of data, enabling effective decision-making across the organisation. Your expertise in dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, Airflow, and Python will be crucial in optimising our data workflows and analytical processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Modeling and Transformation:
    • Develop and maintain data models using dbt (data build tool) to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
    • Design, build, and optimise ETL/ELT processes to transform raw data into valuable datasets.
  • Data Warehousing:
    • Manage and optimise our Snowflake and Databricks data warehouse, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
    • Implement best practices for data governance, security, and performance tuning in Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Big Data Processing:
    • Utilise Databricks to process and analyse large datasets, ensuring scalable and efficient data processing pipelines.
    • Collaborate with data analysts to deploy and manage new and existing models in Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Database Management:
    • Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data.
    • Ensure the integrity and quality of data within our databases.
  • Programming and Scripting:
    • Develop and maintain Python scripts for data manipulation, automation, and integration with other systems.
    • Create reusable code libraries to streamline data engineering tasks.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to data analysts and other team members.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.
    • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in dbt, Snowflake (to be decommissioned), Databricks, SQL, and Python.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling (Kimball, DataVault 2.0), ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
