VivaGym is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to enhance data visualizations and derive actionable insights from customer data. The ideal candidate will lead a team, be proficient in SQL and BI tools like Power BI, and ensure data-driven recommendations support business processes. The role is permanent and offers partial remote work, fostering innovation in a growing fitness company.

Formación

  • 3+ years’ experience in similar roles, team lead experience valued.
  • Proficient in SQL, including SQL Server and Postgres.
  • 2 years’ experience with Power BI or 3+ for other BI tools.

VivaGym operates over 200 gyms across Spain and Portugal. We are a low-cost, no contract, subscription-based business. As we continue to expand and evolve, we are seeking a Senior Data Analyst who can take ownership of data visualizations, analysis and insights.

The ideal person will be a driven, passionate, self-starter who is able to develop innovative and effective approaches to solve our most critical business and data challenges.

The position is a full-time permanent role, reporting to the Head of Data and Insights. The role will cover the Iberian business and will be based in the Málaga, Head Office with remote working policy of 1 day per week.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Gain an understanding of our core databases (SQL Server, Redshift and Azure) and the data available. - Understand how business processes are reflected in the databases. - Support other team members and 3rd party developers in building other data platform solutions including our new Microsoft Fabric environment. - Gather reporting requirements from internal stakeholders and build reports and dashboards in Excel, Superset and Power BI to automatically provide the required KPIs. - Translate raw customer data into actionable insights, clear and coherent analysis, and data-driven recommendations. - Provide an ongoing understanding of customer trends across the business. - Supervise and oversee junior / less experienced data analysts

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Fluent English and Spanish is mandatory (Portuguese an advantage). - Effective communication skills and ability to work with other (non-technical) departments. - Proven ability in using statistical analysis and exploratory modeling to identify trends. - Attention to detail. - Logical thinker and problem solver (able to reverse engineer). - Proficiency in SQL (SQL Server, Postgres). - Experience working with BI systems. - 2 years’ experience of Power BI (or 3+ for other BI visualization tools, knowledge of DAX is a plus). - Proficient user of MS Office suite tools and expert user of Excel. - Knowledge of Python is a plus.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training related to a data field. - 3+ years’ experience in similar roles. - Experience as team lead will be valued.
