A leading fitness company in Spain is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to take ownership of data visualizations, analysis, and insights. This full-time permanent role involves working closely with core databases and translating data into actionable insights. Proficiency in SQL and experience with BI tools are essential. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. This position offers a hybrid work model, with one remote day per week.

VivaGym operates over 200 gyms across Spain and Portugal. We are a low-cost, no contract, subscription-based business. As we continue to expand and evolve, we are seeking a Senior Data Analyst who can take ownership of data visualizations, analysis, and insights.

The ideal person will be a driven, passionate, self-starter who can develop innovative and effective approaches to solve our most critical business and data challenges. The position is a full-time permanent role, reporting to the Head of Data and Insights. The role will cover the Iberian business and will be based in Málaga, Head Office with a remote working policy of 1 day per week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Gain an understanding of our core databases (SQL Server, Redshift, and Azure) and the data available.
  2. Understand how business processes are reflected in the databases.
  3. Support other team members and third-party developers in building data platform solutions, including our new Microsoft Fabric environment.
  4. Gather reporting requirements from internal stakeholders and build reports and dashboards in Excel, Superset, and Power BI to automatically provide KPIs.
  5. Translate raw customer data into actionable insights, clear and coherent analysis, and data-driven recommendations.
  6. Provide ongoing insights into customer trends across the business.
  7. Supervise and oversee junior / less experienced data analysts.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Fluent English and Spanish is mandatory (Portuguese is an advantage).
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with non-technical departments.
  • Proven ability in statistical analysis and exploratory modeling to identify trends.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Logical thinker and problem solver (able to reverse engineer).
  • Proficiency in SQL (SQL Server, Postgres).
  • Experience working with BI systems.
  • 2+ years’ experience with Power BI (or 3+ for other BI visualization tools, knowledge of DAX is a plus).
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of Python is a plus.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a data-related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in similar roles.
  • Experience as a team lead is valued.
