Job summary

Next Ventures is seeking a Senior D365 F&O Functional Finance Consultant for a multinational Europe rollout. You will configure Core Finance modules and lead localisation efforts, ensuring alignment with country requirements.

You will drive UAT, cutover readiness and post-go-live support, collaborating with finance stakeholders and technical teams across multiple countries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver functional finance activities across a multinational D365 F&O rollout in Europe.
• Configure core finance modules: GL, AP, AR, Cash and Bank, Fixed Assets.
• Gather and validate country-specific finance requirements and localisations.
• Design and configure local finance processes with cross-country consistency.
• Define functional requirements for localisation-specific customisations and coordinate with technical teams.
• Plan and support UAT to validate processes and readiness for go-live.
• Support cutover, go-live, and post-go-live activities with local teams.
• Provide post-go-live troubleshooting and sustainment for finance operations.
• Maintain functional docs, configurations, tests and user guidance.
• Communicate progress, dependencies and risks to stakeholders.

Job description

• Programme: Multinational, multi-year D365 F&O rollout across Europe
• Focus: Core finance modules, European localisations, configuration, UAT, go-live and post-go-live support

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver functional finance activities across a multinational D365 F&O rollout in Europe.
• Configure core finance modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank, and Fixed Assets.
• Gather and validate country-specific finance requirements, identifying localisation needs and gaps against the programme’s core solution.
• Design and configure local finance processes, balancing country-specific requirements with consistency across the wider rollout.
• Define functional requirements for localisation‑specific customisations and work with technical teams through development, testing and deployment.
• Plan and support UAT, helping finance users validate business processes, investigate defects and confirm readiness for go‑live.
• Support finance cutover and go‑live activities, working with local teams to resolve issues and manage outstanding functional requirements.
• Provide post‑go‑live support, troubleshoot configuration and process issues, and help stabilise finance operations.
• Maintain functional documentation, configuration records, test scenarios and user guidance.
• Communicate progress, dependencies and delivery risks clearly to local stakeholders and the programme team.
• Extensive experience as a senior D365 F&O Functional Finance Consultant.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of core D365 Finance modules and end‑to‑end finance processes.
• Proven experience delivering multinational or multi‑country implementations and rollouts.
• Experience with European finance localisations and country‑specific financial requirements.
• Ability to assess localisation gaps and translate requirements into configuration or clear functional specifications for customisations.
• Strong involvement in UAT, go‑live preparation and post‑go‑live support.
• Confident working directly with finance stakeholders, technical teams and wider implementation teams.
• Ability to take ownership of functional delivery, prioritise issues and work independently within a complex programme.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Availability to start ASAP on a full‑time freelance basis.
• Previous D365 F&O implementation experience within manufacturing.
• Experience supporting successive country rollouts within a long‑term transformation programme.
• Experience balancing a global finance template with local statutory and operational requirements.
• Understanding of the dependencies between finance and manufacturing or supply chain processes.
• Experience supporting finance data validation, cutover readiness and user training.
