Job summary

Giesecke & Devrient GmbH is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a Scrum team focused on cloud infrastructure, automation, and container orchestration. You will build and manage AWS Landing Zones, support cross-ART deployments, and enable secure, scalable cloud solutions.

The role requires hands-on AWS expertise, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform and Ansible, plus Linux administration and strong scripting skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on AWS experience with core services and security.
• Experience migrating apps to AWS (rehosting, replatforming, refactoring).
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes/OpenShift and ECS is mandatory.
• IaC with Terraform and Ansible; Linux admin experience required.
• Strong networking knowledge and performance tuning experience.
• Good written and spoken English; SAFe/Agile exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage AWS Landing Zones and foundational infra.
• Support migration of application stacks to AWS ensuring security and scale.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and Docker deployments.
• Automate infra and apps with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Install, configure, and maintain OS, cloud-native tools, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with developers across Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
• Maintain security, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Write scripts to improve ops efficiency and reduce manual work.
