Job summary

Giesecke+Devrient in Sant Joan Despí is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to design and manage AWS Landing Zones, while enabling secure, scalable deployments in a multi-cloud environment. You will build automation, maintain Kubernetes clusters, and support migration of workloads.

You’ll join an Agile delivery team and drive improvements across platforms. The role emphasizes IaC with Terraform/Ansible, Linux administration, and strong scripting in Bash/Python, with excellent English.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of hands-on AWS experience including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, Route 53, and AWS Organizations.
• Experience migrating application stacks to AWS (rehosting, replatforming, or refactoring).
• Mandatory experience with container orchestration such as Kubernetes (Open Source and OpenShift) and/or Amazon ECS.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code skills with Terraform and Ansible.
• Solid Linux/Unix systems administration experience.
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (VMware, Docker).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Splunk, Nagios) and performance tuning (Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, NGINX).
• Understanding of networking (OSI model, TCP/IP).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum; SAFe is a plus.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python).
• High level of English.

You’ll be instrumental in building and managing our AWS Landing Zone, supporting application teams across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and enabling secure, scalable, and automated cloud deployments. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on cloud infrastructure, automation, container orchestration, and system performance. You’ll work in a Scrum team, and experience with SAFe is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and maintain scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of extensive hands‑on experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, Route 53, and AWS Organizations.
• Proven experience in migrating application stacks to AWS (rehosting, replatforming, or refactoring).
• Mandatory experience with container orchestration, such as Kubernetes (Open Source and OpenShift) and/or Amazon ECS.
• Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.

• Prior experience in telecom or mobile network environments.
• Understanding of GSMA security and compliance frameworks.
