Tasks

As a Cloud DBA, you will report directly to the Database Manager and work with an international team of developers skilled in SQL, Python, Java, Common Lisp, and Cloud technologies to ensure all goals are accomplished cost-effectively.

Your main responsibility will be applying best practices to ensure that the organization’s databases are operational, reliable, accessible, scalable, and secure. You will research, design, and implement technologies and processes to achieve this, ensuring data consistency through backups and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

• Evaluate new database technologies to improve service.
• Administer, configure, and analyze queries for improvements with Postgres or Oracle.
• Address challenges related to loading and maintaining large datasets.
• Optimize queries.
• Create and manage data backups.
• Participate in on-call rotation shifts.

Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience as a Linux DBA handling large data in the cloud or equivalent experience.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong DBA skills, including ETL, backup, and restore procedures.
• Knowledge of relational (MySQL, Oracle, Postgres), OLAP (RedShift, Presto, Snowflake), and non-relational (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.
• Willingness to relocate to Madrid; hybrid work model.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar.
• Experience in administering, configuring, and optimizing Postgres.
• Professional Linux System Administration experience.
• Knowledge of network design and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spark is a plus.
• International cultural awareness, with headquarters in Marbella, Spain, and presence in New York and London.
