AstraZeneca is seeking an Associate Director, Data Scientist to advance AI methods for clinical development across early and late phase programmes. You will design, evaluate, and deploy AI models that inform trial design and decision-making, collaborating with Clinical Development, Biometrics, and Regulatory teams in a fast-moving, data-driven environment.

You will lead data science projects, coach junior scientists, and contribute to the development of reusable AI solutions while navigating

Formación

• PhD preferred; MSc with exceptional computational track considered.
• 2–5 years post-PhD experience in AI/ML with impact in clinical, biomedical, or drug development settings.
• Deep experience with biology data (molecular, imaging, or clinical text).
• Strong software development skills in Python with PyTorch and LLM tooling.
• Experience deploying robust, reusable analytical solutions on cloud platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, evaluate, and deploy AI/ML methods for clinical trial settings.
• Lead end-to-end data science project delivery from framing to adoption.
• Collaborate with Clinical Development, Biometrics, and Regulatory teams on strategy.
• Build reusable data products and applications with a software mindset.
• Evaluate cutting-edge methodologies including foundation models and causal AI.
• Drive data-centric AI practices: data curation, quality control, benchmarking.
• Contribute to AI evaluation frameworks for regulatory settings.
• Engage with internal communities and external forums; contribute to publications.
