Wood in Madrid is seeking a Senior Civil Designer with extensive EPC experience in oil and gas to join our Project Team. Based in Madrid, you will lead civil design work, coordinate with global offices, and ensure high-quality deliverables including earthworks, foundations, and structural drawings.

Formación

• Degree from an academy or vocational school in architectural, civil, mechanical construction or design.
• Experience in EPC organizations working on major petroleum and petrochemical projects.
• Experience as a Lead or Checking Designer, capable of leading a team.
• Excellent drafting software expertise: AutoCAD, Microstation V8+, 3D modelling packages such as SmartPlant 3D or TEKLA.
• Ability to plan and prioritise design work.
• Provide technical support and guide designers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work in a team.
• Availability to travel.
• Valid permit to live and work in Spain.
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken Spanish and English.

Responsabilidades

• Act as a liaison between Madrid and other Wood offices to ensure timely release of data/drawings and resolution of problems.
• Coordinate the execution of civil design work by other affiliates to meet project specifications and budget.
• Check and comment deliverables for civil, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Check drawings/models in accordance with standards and client requirements.
• Receive engineering design information from Civil Designer as applicable.
• Ensure efficient communication among offices and meet reporting requirements.
• Produce final civil deliverable drawings (earthworks, foundations, structures, etc.).
• Produce final structural deliverable drawings (pipes, vessels, access platforms).
• Participate in model reviews as required.

The role includes conceptual design and specification development to meet client requirements and is based in Madrid, responsible for ensuring all civil design work on projects is executed and completed with high quality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the execution of civil design work by other affiliates to ensure compliance with project specifications and production of civil and structural deliverables within time and budget.
• Check and comment deliverables for civil, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Check drawings/models in accordance with work practices, standards and client standards.
• Receive engineering design information and instructions from Civil Designer as applicable.
• Ensure efficient communication among offices and meet all reporting requirements.
• Produce final civil deliverable drawings (earthworks, piling, foundations, superstructures, underground services, paving and buildings, including reinforcement detailing and schedules where applicable).
• Produce final structural deliverable drawings (pipe racks, pipe support steelwork, equipment support and access structures, vertical vessel circular access platforms and buildings where applicable).
• Participate in model reviews as required.

Qualifications

• Degree from an academy or vocational high school (architectural, civil, mechanical construction or design preferred).
• Experience in EPC organizations working on major petroleum and petrochemical projects.
• Experience as a Lead or Checking Designer, capable of leading a team.
• Excellent drafting software expertise (AutoCAD, Microstation V8 or later, 3D modelling packages such as SmartPlant 3D or TEKLA).
