What We Need:

Global Services, 2K’s worldwide centralized services group, is a diverse group of teams offering varied services from locations all over the world. Our Global Services 2K Valencia studio is seeking a Senior Character Artist who is ready for the challenge of contributing to several AAA projects.

This position will require working closely with producers and Prop-/Environment-Artists within the 2K Valencia team, as well as external art-teams.

We’re looking for someone who’s motivated and passionate about making high quality games. We’re constantly challenging ourselves to push the boundaries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Consistently create high quality Character Art assets that satisfy both artistic and technical requirements
2. Receive and provide art and design feedback based on high level direction
3. Work closely with art leads
4. Support the Art team through the construction of pipelines and style guides
5. Improve your craft through collaboration and self-guided exploration
6. Assist in character concept and design
7. Creatively and technically maintain the quality standards for the project(s) and feel confident to develop your own skills and mentor these of the team around you.
8. Proactively report blockers or request feedback.
9. Self-regulate your workload while completing time sensitive requests & resolve any issues that arise.

Who Will Be a Great Fit:

1. Excellent understanding of anatomy, weight, and silhouette
2. Advanced knowledge of 3DS Max and/or Maya, or similar 3D modeling software
3. Robust knowledge of game asset optimization and topology
4. 4+ years of experience in the video games industry with 2+ shipped titles as a Character Artist
5. Proven experience with Marvelous Designer
6. Proficient in Unreal 5 workflows and PBR pipelines using Substance Painter
7. Basic knowledge of animation, with an eye for posing
8. An extensive portfolio of high and low poly models, including advanced material and rendering samples.
9. Excellent organizational and time management skills
10. Proactive about troubleshooting and problem solving
11. Capacity to adapt to a demanding workflow, maintaining quality and consistency while meeting objectives.
12. Can work in a team as well as an individual, being able to communicate well and having a proactive attitude are a must.
13. Able to autonomously follow guidelines and complete complex tasks within given
14. Fluent English both in speech and in writing.
