Senior Buyer / Category Manager Logistics EMEA page is loaded

Are you ready to play a key role in shaping the future of procurement at IFF? We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Procurement Manager to oversee local supply management for our assigned plant(s) and drive regional sourcing initiatives.

As part of our Regional EMEA Procurement team, you will not only ensure seamless supply chain operations but also contribute to global strategies by collaborating with Category Excellence Teams, you will be in charge of setting up the regional strategies in collaboration with supply chain and the business. Your expertise will help us optimize sourcing, improve supplier relationships, and drive value across our operations.

The Main Responsibilities Are

  • Leads negotiations, ensure contract management, drive procurement activities as regional EMEA category manager for logistics categories.
  • Supports regional implementation and leads initiatives of the procurement strategy for Logistics, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
  • Drive commercial negotiations and manage supplier relationships to maximize value and conduct regional tenders, ensure competitive bidding, and implement long-term agreements.
  • Identify and realize cost saving potential, set and control saving targets for the relevant categories.
  • Setting up Regional Procurement strategies for all the EMEA region, working alongside Category Excellence Teams to enhance supplier performance and mitigate risks.
  • Understanding of tendering processes and negotiations with transportation (road, air or ocean) and warehousing providers while being able to identify savings opportunities during operational day-to-day activities.
  • Understanding of logistics rate card structures, key suppliers and cost components.
  • Ensure compliance with Global Procurement policies, systems, and procedures, while implementing best practices to support IFF’s operational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, etc.) to align sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor supplier performance, mitigate risk, and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement — ideally within logistics or indirect categories.
  • Negotiation experience required.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional and international teams required.
  • Very good analytical (data) capabilities, problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
  • Takes ownership of the work, successes and mistakes
  • Strong change and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with international trade laws, compliance, and procurement best practices.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to partner across functions and cultures.
