The Markets business area is responsible for optimizing and developing Statkraft’s flexible generation portfolio, providing market access, supporting investment decisions, and securing long-term value through global hedging strategies.

The Origination division within Markets creates value for customers and society. In Southern Europe, Iberian Origination handles complex wholesale transactions in Spain and Portugal, including pioneering long-term PPAs. We have contracted over 100 wind and solar PPAs and plan significant growth in regional and product scope.

The teams focus on originating, structuring, and negotiating transactions with P&L responsibility, while Portfolio Management manages portfolio exposures and provides essential tools and data.

The Iberian Origination business model grants complete commercial risk responsibility to the business, fostering close collaboration under a "one team – one PnL" philosophy.

The (Senior) Business Developer plays a pivotal role, requiring a proactive, entrepreneurial approach:

• Develop and nurture customer relationships, focusing on acquiring new clients
• Support new business case development with Portfolio Managers
• Oversee project development from inception to implementation, coordinating with internal teams
• Monitor economic, technical, and regulatory environments to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and maximize value
• Develop short-term energy management strategies to enhance operational efficiency

This role is central to business strategy, demanding a structured, detail-oriented approach aligned with management goals, and a strong sense of ownership and credibility.

Qualifications include:

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar front office role with PnL responsibility
• Proficiency in data analysis using Excel
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written
