Ideal candidates have over 5 years of backend development experience, are proficient in both English and Spanish, and are comfortable working in an Agile environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a senior Backend Engineer for our CivitFun brand to develop key functionalities for our SaaS platform focused on the hospitality sector. Responsibilities include integrations with external systems (PMS, payment methods, locks), architectural design, and deployment of solutions in a cloud environment. This is an end-to-end role from architecture design to deployment.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure backend services using Node.js.
• Design and implement APIs and core business logic for the platform.
• Collaborate on front-end development using React, especially for admin dashboards and user-facing flows.
• Lead technical decisions regarding architecture, database design, and deployment.
• Contribute to CI/CD setup, testing, and code quality initiatives.

Skillset and Experience Required

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, primarily with Node.js.
• Solid hands-on experience with React.js, including hooks and modern front-end patterns.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication flows, and role-based access.
• Proficiency with databases (MongoDB, Redis), SQL, and NoSQL.
• Cloud experience with AWS.
• Experience with SaaS product development.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership from concept to production.
• Experience with CI/CD setup, testing, and code quality initiatives.
• Experience working with Agile Scrum methodology.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
