Workato is seeking a Senior Backend Developer (Ruby/Go) to join the Engine team in Madrid. You will work on the Recipe runtime, including DSL, events, webhooks and job execution, with a focus on performance, scalability and data protection.

You'll build and optimize Ruby and Go services, evaluate new technologies, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust data pipelines using Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka and more. Remote-friendly with hybrid setups and global teams.

Formación

• 5+ years in building scalable distributed backend systems.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Ruby and Go in production environments.
• Understanding of databases, queues, caches and APIs.
• Multilingual coding environment with Ruby core and Go/Rust trends.
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).

Responsabilidades

• Develop, extend and troubleshoot complex Ruby/Go applications and microservices.
• Improve execution engine for Ruby DSL, isolation and performance.
• Review code and contribute to system design and improvements.
• Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs and ensure code quality and automation.
