WhereTo is seeking a Backend-focused engineer to join our engineering team in Barcelona. You will work with product managers and developers to build core features across the WhereTo platform, leveraging a modern stack and asynchronous design patterns in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

You’ll design and implement scalable services, mentor junior engineers, participate in architecture discussions, and help ensure high code quality and robust operations.

Formación

• 6+ years in software development.
• Experience building high quality software from scratch.
• Strong Node.js and JavaScript skills (TypeScript a bonus).
• REST-based web service API design experience.
• Experience with databases and data structures.

Responsabilidades

• Create high quality user-focused software in a fast-moving domain.
• Define, implement and reinforce architectural and implementation best practices.
• Assist Team Lead in planning and tracking team projects.
• Communicate progress and blockers to engineering management.
• Organize and lead meetings with external stakeholders as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews to junior engineers.
• Help teammates debug issues and solve complex tasks.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist in onboarding new team members.
