Role Overview : Your Day-to-Day

As a Senior Backend Engineer , you will play a critical role in designing and developing backend systems that support IoT devices, leveraging modern DevOps practices. You will work with cutting-edge technologies in Azure cloud infrastructure and a microservices architecture, building solutions that protect the lives and homes of our customers. This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager .

Key responsibilities

• Strengthening and supporting the development team, building software that helps to protect the lives and homes of our customers
• Writing clean, scalable code using C# .NET Core
• Writing code and develop according to business and user needs
• Evaluating new code for reliable architecture, stability, reusability, performance, automation, security and metrics
• Remaining up to date with the terminology, concepts, and best practices for coding
• Writing unit and integration tests to cover functionality and reduce regressions
• Mentoring junior developers and new team members
• Coordinating with product owners, developers and architects
• Solving complex development problems and technical challenges through innovative approaches and problem solving

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 7 years of experience as a Backend Developer
• Proficient in spoken and written English
• C# and .NET Core knowledge
• 5 years of experience with microservices and APIs (REST and event-based)
• Experience writing backend services consumed by iOS / Android apps
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• SQL and Azure Service Bus knowledge
• Automation and integration testing experience
• A valid work permit in the EU

Nice-to-Haves

• Knowledge of the Azure ecosystem
• DevOps and Terraform experience
• Expertise with CI / CD and test automation
• NoSQL databases (e.g., CosmosDB) knowledge
