Global M is hiring a Backend Engineer to expand its core engineering team in Barcelona. You will design and build scalable backend services using Python, and architect data storage and retrieval systems with SQL/NoSQL databases.

You'll develop batch or streaming pipelines, work with AWS and Kubernetes, and explore AI tooling in a fast-paced, hybrid environment with three days per week onsite in Barcelona.

Formación

• Several years of backend engineering experience with Python or another backend tech.
• Experience designing and owning data systems end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and containerization.
• Strong technical decision-making and builder mindset.

We're Hiring: Software Engineer (Hybrid - Barcelona)

We are expanding our core engineering team. We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges across distributed systems, data pipelines, and applied AI infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

• Design and build scalable backend services using Python.
• Architect data storage and retrieval systems with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Develop batch or streaming pipelines and work with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experiment with modern AI engineering tooling, such as coding agents and MCP ecosystems.

What We're Looking For:

• Several years of backend engineering experience, with deep expertise in Python or another backend technology, as well as APIs.
• Experience designing and owning data systems end-to-end, rather than primarily maintaining or operating systems built by others.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and data architectures.
• Strong technical decision-making skills and a builder mindset.
• Fluency in English or Spanish.
