Pearson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Madrid to architect and deliver scalable backend services with AI integrations. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain backend components for digital learning products.

The role emphasizes autonomy, strong coding practices, and mentoring junior engineers. The position requires experience with Python, cloud environments, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD, in a hybrid setup across Poland or Spain.

Formación

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Python and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; Agile experience.
• Experience with data processing and designing scalable pipelines.
• Proactive in maintaining documentation and mentoring juniors.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with product owners to design, implement, and maintain backend components for digital products.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to define objectives, requirements, and timelines.
• Lead projects and advocate for backend best practices across development and QA.
• Architect scalable backend services and APIs, including AI integration and microservices deployment.
• Operationalize AI models with data science teams ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Maintain technical documentation and mentor junior engineers.
• Champion continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Lead the software development lifecycle with DevOps, Clean Code, and DDD practices.
• Ensure security and compliance in collaboration with relevant teams.
