Pearson seeks an experienced Senior Software Developer to design and deliver scalable backend components and AI-enabled features for digital products. You will work in an autonomous, cross-functional environment and contribute to architecture, DevOps, and best practices while mentoring junior engineers.

The role emphasizes new feature development in a fast-moving lifecycle, with strong collaboration across product, data science, and engineering teams. Hybrid setup in Europe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience with software engineering principles, development processes, and industry trends.
• Hands-on experience with Python; proficiency in at least one cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments and with cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Partner with product owners to design, implement, and maintain backend components for digital products.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to define objectives, requirements, and timelines.
• Lead projects and advocate for backend best practices, supporting strategic and innovation initiatives.
• Architect scalable backend services and APIs, including AI integration and deployment of microservices.
• Operationalize AI models with data science teams and ensure system reliability and scalability.
• Maintain technical documentation and mentor junior engineers.
• Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Lead and influence the software development lifecycle, adhering to DevOps, Clean Code, and DDD.
