• 10+ years of experience in all design phases including construction administration.
• Professional qualification as an Architect or equivalent is required.

As our office in Barcelona is growing at a rapid pace and we have a pipeline of interesting projects, we are looking for Senior Architects with +10 years’ experience.

AVAILABILITY : We request immediate availability, for selected candidates to join within 4 weeks or less from contract extended.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

1. Work with and report daily to the Project Manager and / or Project Architect.
2. Assist with the management of junior team members.
3. Drafting comprehensive drawing sets from concept through construction documents.
4. Generate detailed 3D models to develop all parts of the changing design process.
5. Technical detailing & construction administration experience, with the ability to resolve design issues in a creative and pragmatic way by developing multiple design options that meet the project budget and design approach.
6. Strong ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and models as they relate to the project.
7. Good conceptual and design skills, with aesthetic flair.
8. Communication, coordination and management of consultants, contractors, clients, regulatory agencies and approving bodies to meet overall project objectives.
9. Deliverables produced in accordance with BIG’s standards and based on direction from the Project Manager / Architect and the Partner in Charge.

Essential skills :

1. Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and Spanish- spoken and written.
2. Significant contributions to an extremely well documented and coordinated drawing set.
3. Excellent ability in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite; Grasshopper and V-Ray is a plus.
4. Solid knowledge of products, materials, zoning / building codes and construction methods.
5. Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines on budget and on time.
6. A keen eye for attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative in response to direction from project managers, directors and partners.
8. A team player, with a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and collaborating.

Experience and qualifications :

1. Professional qualification as an Architect or an equivalent overseas qualification.
2. 10+ years of professional experience in all phases of the design process: conceptual, detail and design development, construction documents, and construction administration with site supervision.
3. Experience on built and published references.
