ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

Our product Pilot Platform will be a key pillar in SITA’s contribution to a greener, more sustainable aviation through the enablement of flight and air traffic optimization. On top of this, the new app will be continuing the great success of our well-known products SITA eWAS and SITA FlightFolder to become the unique all-in-one app for the pilots of major airlines throughout the world. We are looking for someone who can lead this project to the next level; this role needs to be accountable for the technical team behind and swiftly be coordinated with the product owner. You will interact with the various functions within SITA FOR AIRCRAFT such as Engineering & Technology, Product, and other colleagues across the company, located in 20+ countries (Canada, United States, France, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Spain...).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Your overall responsibilities will be related to the following key activities:

• Lead the development of our new Angular / Typescript based web application.
• Take accountability of the application being the voice of the technical team.
• Contribute to our web component modular strategy.
• Maintenance and creation of dynamic aviation-specific displays, including interactive cartography (e.g. live maps).
• Management of related infrastructure, dependent services, and deployment concerns.

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals; algorithms and data structures.
• Working knowledge of backend systems (databases, servers, common infrastructure techniques).
• Experience working with Angular (versions > 2.0) frontend applications.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous data handling.
• Understanding of UI / UX principles and collaboration with designers.
• Solid English communication skills. Minimum five years of working in this language required.

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Degree or postgraduate studies in Computer Science or closely-related field.
• Previous experience working with: 3D graphics, especially with the WebGL rendering engine, GLSL shaders, Building Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) / cartographic software / digital maps.
• Barcelona based willing to go to the office on a regular basis.
