Senior SOC Analyst – Cyber Security Operations

Location: Spain – Madrid

Salary: €55,000 – €65,000 per annum

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

Our client is expanding their Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) team in Spain, and we’re looking for a Senior SOC Analyst to join us at the forefront of cyber defence. This is a key hire in their growing team, playing a senior leadership role within one of their regional sub-teams. Based in Málaga or Seville, you will act as the technical and operational go-to for escalations, mentor junior and mid-level analysts, and conduct high-level investigations and threat hunts. This role offers the opportunity to shape the SOC function as we build a future-focused, regionally distributed team.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading and mentoring a small SOC team (Junior & Mid Analysts) within your regional sub-team.
  • Acting as Shift Lead, owning escalations and critical decision-making during major incidents.
  • Performing advanced incident analysis, threat hunting, and incident response.
  • Guiding and supporting less experienced team members.
  • Helping define best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Working closely with the SOC Lead and reporting on key developments, incident outcomes, and trends.
  • Supporting the development of the SOC’s operational future, including planning for shift model rollout.
  • Assisting the Head of Cyber Ops in embedding leadership and developing scalable sub-team structures.
About You

You’re technically strong and lead from the front. You’re confident making high-pressure decisions, guiding analysts through complex threat scenarios, and stepping into command roles when needed.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong background in Security Operations, ideally within an enterprise SOC.
  • Proven experience with incident response and threat hunting.
  • Adept at advanced incident analysis and security monitoring.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior analysts effectively.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools, EDR platforms, and threat intelligence feeds.
  • Calm under pressure and capable of making fast, informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and escalation management skills.
The Team Structure & Growth Path

You will join a team of 5, with plans to scale to 8 per region. Each region (Madrid) will have two sub-teams, with you as the most senior in your team. There is a clear progression path and opportunities to grow into larger leadership roles as SOC operations expand across Europe.

Shift Model & Working Hours

Initial hours: 40-hour week (8/9am–5/6pm). Within 6 months: transition to 4 on / 4 off shifts (10-hour shifts). Flexibility is important, and shift readiness will be advantageous.

Why Join Us?
  • Be part of a fast-growing, technically excellent cyber operations team.
  • Influence the direction of a new team and shape regional security leadership.
  • Enjoy a strong culture of development, learning, and progression.
