We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst for Customs & Trade Compliance based in Madrid (hybrid role) to provide advanced support to Regional Trade and Customs operations.

What you will be doing
  1. Coordinate and monitor import/export compliance with international trade, customs, and government agency laws and regulations for Baxter entities in EMEA.
  2. Help develop, implement, and support Baxter's trade and customs strategy and systems.
  3. Support the interpretation and application of regulations and raise contacts for irregularities in trade and customs matters.
  4. Identify and implement duty reduction opportunities and process improvements, developing audit and support programs for international trade.
  5. Implement internal processes to collect proofs of origin, ensure compliance with non-preferential rules, and report origin determinations regularly.
  6. Drive standardization of import/export processes and internal control procedures, including drafting local SOPs and procedures for trade compliance and customs activities.
  7. Work closely with local operations (Logistics, Planning, Manufacturing) to seamlessly integrate global trade activities into overall operations.
  8. Collaborate with the Trade Compliance Team to ensure flawless operations.
What you will bring
  1. Working knowledge of import/export laws, customs formalities, and FDA/MOH requirements, with a global perspective.
  2. Solid understanding of country of origin determination and harmonized system (commodity codes).
  3. Ability to perform gap analysis, identify compliance issues, develop corrective actions, present findings, and implement solutions.
  4. Experience working in a regulated, fast-paced, international environment.
  5. Proficiency in English is essential; fluency in German is desirable.
  6. Ability to prioritize tasks, handle workload, and report in a structured manner.
  7. Initiative, good communication skills, strong work ethics, and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Familiarity with trade data analysis tools, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and ERP systems (JDE).
