Senior AI Specialist at Savana

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist in Machine Learning, with expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and NLP, to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the machine learning lifecycle and a proven track record of deploying impactful ML solutions in production environments.

1. Major Responsibilities:
2. Design, develop, fine-tune, and deploy NLP models, including LLMs, in clinical and multilingual settings using foundational model libraries.
3. Implement optimization techniques for quality assurance, explainability, and annotation projects.
4. Manage the full ML lifecycle from data collection and model development to deployment and monitoring.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve business problems using advanced ML techniques.
6. Stay updated with the latest research in NLP, LLMs, and ML, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
7. Support project execution, including model development and fine-tuning for real-world evidence studies.
8. Operate according to security policies and report incidents or suggest improvements.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

1. Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields.
2. Proven experience in ML projects focusing on NLP and LLMs, preferably with clinical data and multilingual settings.
3. Deep understanding of ML principles, including model design, training, validation, and evaluation.
4. Fluency in Python; knowledge of R, Java, or Scala is advantageous.
5. Fluency in Spanish is mandatory; additional European languages are a plus.
6. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.
