We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist in Machine Learning with a strong focus on applying Large Language Models (LLMs) in Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the machine learning lifecycle and a proven record of delivering impactful ML solutions in production environments.

Major Accountabilities:

1. Design, develop, fine-tune, optimize, and deploy state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing models, including LLMs, in clinical and multilingual settings, using foundational model libraries.
2. Design and implement optimization techniques for quality assurance, explainability, and annotation projects.
3. Understand the full Machine Learning lifecycle, from data collection/preparation and model development to model deployment and monitoring.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve business problems using advanced Machine Learning techniques.
5. Stay up to date with the latest research and advancements in NLP, LLMs, and Machine Learning technologies, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
6. Work collaboratively within a multicultural, multilingual team and meet tight project deadlines.
7. Support and execute projects within the team’s core responsibility including model development and fine-tuning for real-world evidence studies.
8. Operate according to Security Policies, Procedures, and Manuals.
9. Report any suspect incidents or improvement proposals.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:

1. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
2. Proven experience working on Machine Learning projects, with a focus on NLP and LLMs; experience working with clinical data and/or in different languages is a plus.
3. Deep understanding of Machine Learning principles, including model design, training, validation, and evaluation, and other Artificial Intelligence techniques (Bayes, clustering, classification, PCA, etc.).
4. Fluency in Python is mandatory; proficiency in additional programming languages such as R, Java, or Scala is a strong advantage.
5. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deliver projects on time in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
6. Spanish fluency is mandatory; knowledge of additional European languages, such as English, French, German, Portuguese, or Italian, is highly advantageous.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
8. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
9. Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
10. Initiative and passion for staying ahead in the rapidly evolving field of Machine Learning and NLP.
