Adidas is hiring a Senior AI Platform Engineer for MCP & Agentic Infrastructure within Platform Engineering - FIP. The role focuses on building and operating enterprise AI platforms with cutting-edge capabilities while ensuring security, governance and scalability.

You will own epics end-to-end, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to accelerate delivery and reliability in a hybrid environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years IT experience across the full product lifecycle or software development.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Hands-on design and operation of cloud-native platforms and tooling.

Responsabilidades

SENIOR AI PLATFORM ENGINEER - MCP & AGENTIC INFRASTRUCTURE

PLATFORM ENGINEERING - FIP (Fast Insights Platform)

PURPOSE

Platform Engineering designs, builds and operates the platforms our application teams rely on. Our goal is to unlock the potential of those teams so they spend more time on business value — increasing velocity and reducing time to market — while the enterprise scales on shared, secure, well‑engineered platforms and services.

The Fast Insights Platform Team is driving the next generation of software development across adidas. We provide developers with cutting‑edge AI capabilities, from enterprise LLM access to agentic coding tools, while ensuring security, governance, and scalability across the company.

We are also shaping the future of enterprise AI agents at adidas. By operating the platform for agentic workloads on AWS, we provide reusable AgentCore‑based building blocks, reference architectures, governance frameworks, and security guardrails that empower teams to innovate quickly while meeting enterprise standards for reliability, compliance, and scale.

This is a hands‑on platform engineering role focused on the infrastructure, tooling and governance behind enterprise AI.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Maintains expert knowledge in one or more specialisms, provides authoritative specialist advice, oversees advice delivery, and promotes internal knowledge sharing.
• Monitors emerging technologies, assessing potential impacts, threats, and opportunities, and contributes to reports and technology roadmaps.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of epics and initiatives within the platform - from understanding requirements through solution design, implementation and operation.
• Design, code, test, document and refactor complex software, choosing the right approach and applying engineering standards and tools.
• Propose, own and implement technical improvements (e.g. monitoring, system stability, reliability, operability) balancing impact and cost.
• Build and operate the platform reliably: define and track SLAs/SLOs, reduce incidents and toil, and automate operational work.
• Lead code reviews for peers and contribute to the platform’s technical roadmap, aligned with the domain strategy and in close collaboration with the platform owner.
• Coordinate the day‑to‑day delivery of complex, multi‑faceted work with the relevant stakeholders across teams.
• Act as an active mentor for equal‑or lower‑grade colleagues, onboard new team members, and contribute to communities of practice.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• College or university degree with focus on IT, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7 years of IT experience, with exposure to the full product development lifecycle and/or software development of REST APIs, Web applications or Platform Development.
• 2 years of proven experience leading complex technical initiatives, mentoring other engineers and influencing technical decisions across teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient English skills (verbal and written).
• Required technical skills:
  • Strong software engineering experience using TypeScript, Python or another modern programming language.
  • Hands‑on experience designing and operating production services on AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools ideally AWS CDK, GitHub Actions, Terraform or similar.
  • Cloud‑native foundations: containers and Kubernetes, CI/CD, and a major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
  • Experience building platforms, internal developer tools, shared services or reusable technical capabilities.

• Nice to have technical skills:
  • Experience with MCP protocol, by creating and securing MCP Servers using gateways
  • Experience creating AI Agents in production with guardrails, security and observability.
  • Experience in the AWS Bedrock AgentCore service suite.
  • Experience in high performance languages like Rust.
• DevOps mindset with ownership of the IT process from development/testing to deployment phase.
• Experience working in agile teams (Scrum/Kanban) in highly complex, global projects.
• Proactivity and “team player” attitude, with the ability to lead, mentor and collaborate effectively.
• Growth mindset focused on continuous learning, improvement and adaptability to change.

MAIN TECHNOLOGIES WE USE:

• Building enterprise‑scale platforms using TypeScript, Python, AWS CDK, and Terraform
• Designing and operating serverless architectures leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SNS, and SQS
• Developing agentic platforms and AI‑powered developer experiences using LangGraph, LangChain, AWS Bedrock, and AWS AgentCore Runtime
• Creating reusable building blocks, blueprints, and guardrails that enable teams to build and scale AI agents securely
• Driving the adoption of AI‑assisted software development across adidas
• Implementing secure identity and access management solutions with Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.
• Building and governing enterprise AI capabilities based on Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agent‑to‑Agent (A2A)communication patterns, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures
• Working in a collaborative Agile environment using Scrum and Kanban

You are not expected to be an expert in every technology listed above.
