Pearson, a global leader in education, seeks a highly autonomous Senior Software Developer to design and deliver AI-enabled backend systems within the English Language Learning division. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build scalable APIs and advocate for DevOps and best practices.

You will drive features in a fast-moving environment, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while working in a hybrid model across Poland or Spain.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience with software engineering principles, development processes, and industry trends.
• Hands-on Python experience.
• Experience with at least one major cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency in CI/CD and code review practices.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for scalable development.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with data processing and building pipelines.
• Experience with Agile practices and product/project management.
• Commitment to inclusive and diverse work environment.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders.
• Experience working in a diverse, remote, asynchronous team.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain backend components for digital products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define objectives and timelines.
• Lead projects and promote backend best practices and innovation.
• Architect scalable backend services and APIs, including AI integration.
• Operationalize AI models with data science teams and ensure reliability.
• Maintain technical documentation and mentor junior engineers.
• Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and DevOps practices.
• Lead SDLC activities and adhere to Clean Code and DDD guidelines.
• Ensure security and compliance with relevant teams.
• Stay updated on industry trends and propose improvements.
