Job summary

Pearson in Spain or Poland is looking for a Senior Software Developer to design and deliver scalable backend services, with AI integration for real-world learning products. You will work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship features and maintain best practices.

You will mentor juniors, contribute to DevOps and code quality initiatives, and help shape the lifecycle of complex digital solutions in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Autonomous engineer who can navigate ambiguity and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Proficient in Python and at least one modern cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD, code review, and multi-stage testing.
• Experience with scalable development using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend components for digital products.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to define objectives and timelines.
• Architect scalable backend services and APIs, including AI integration and microservices deployment.
• Operationalize AI models with data science teams, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers and champion DevOps, Clean Code, and DDD practices.
• Maintain documentation and drive knowledge sharing within the team.
