Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Software Developer to help design and deliver AI-enabled backend services for our digital learning products. You’ll join an international team to build scalable solutions, implement microservices, and drive DevOps practices across the lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong Python skills, cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure), and a track record of applying modern software engineering principles in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on Python experience and modern development practices.
• Proven experience with Docker and Kubernetes in scalable systems.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product owners to design, implement, and maintain backend components for digital products.
• Lead projects and advocate for backend best practices, supporting AI integration.
• Architect scalable backend services and APIs, including AI model deployment.
• Operationalize AI models and ensure system reliability and security.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps, Clean Code, and DDD.
