Job summary

OW Ocean Winds, Madrid, is seeking an accounting and reporting professional to own the close, reporting and internal control activities for holding entities in Spain and across OW Group. You will ensure IFRS and Spanish GAAP accuracy with robust controls and drive process improvements.

The role requires independence, stakeholder coordination across geographies, and delivery of high-quality financial information while aligning with Group requirements. Fluency in Spanish and English is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
• 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Spanish GAAP.
• Experience with SAP FI/CO or a comparable ERP, with a solid understanding of accounting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis, data reconciliation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month-end closing activities for OW holding entities, including accruals, provisions, account reconciliations, intercompany balances and Group reporting.
• Review bookkeeping and supporting documentation, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
• Prepare financial information under Spanish GAAP and IFRS, including relevant GAAP-to-IFRS adjustments.
• Perform standalone financial analysis, investigate significant movements and provide clear explanations of financial results.
• Coordinate the preparation of annual standalone financial statements.
• Translate accounting conclusions into appropriate accounting entries, disclosures and control requirements.
• Support ad hoc accounting and reporting matters and Finance initiatives, providing technical analysis and guidance as required.
• Independently assess the existing internal control framework, including risk and control matrices, and propose improvements to address financial reporting risks and process inefficiencies.
• Coordinate with Finance teams across geographies to ensure consistent and timely execution of controls.
• Monitor control execution and identified deficiencies, agree corrective actions and follow up on resolution.
• Improve Group-level reporting and visibility over control execution, remediation progress and management information.
• Coordinate and implement improvements updating control matrices and documentation.
• Act as a key point of contact for internal and statutory external audit activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting, reporting and control processes.
• Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Tax, Treasury and Procurement across geographies.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues within the assigned scope.
