Hirsch Bedner Associates in Madrid seeks an Accountant to support Spain and UK operations. You will coordinate daily accounting with global teams, translate documents into English, and ensure statutory and tax compliance. Strong English/Spanish fluency and 2–3 years' experience are required.

Responsibilities include month-end close support, liaison with local consultants, and ensuring timely submission of financial information. This role is based in Madrid.

Qualificações

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent with professional certification.
• Based in Madrid with the right to work in Spain.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in Finance/Accounting.
• Audit experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards; Taxation Law; etc.
• Familiarity with Spanish accounting & tax requirements.
• Independent, diligent, analytical and self-motivated.
• Strong analytical skills, meticulous with an eye for details.
• Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to work with cross-country finance teams.
• Experience in an international or multinational organization is preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) is mandatory with ability to translate and explain documentation between the two languages.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate day-to-day accounting and finance requirements for the Spain office with the UK Admin team and the accounting office in the USA/Philippines.
• Serve as the local point of contact for accounting-related matters in Spain, ensuring requests and documentation are communicated accurately and addressed in a timely manner.
• Review, organize, and translate Spanish accounting, tax, banking, payroll, and other financial documents into English as needed for processing and review by the Finance team.
• Coordinate with the local Spanish tax/accounting consultant regarding statutory accounting requirements, tax filings, compliance matters, and other local finance requirements.
• Provide the USA/Philippines accounting team with the information and supporting documentation required to maintain the company's accounting records.
• Assist in reconciling local accounting and statutory information with Group accounting records and reporting requirements.
• Follow up with internal teams and external consultants to resolve accounting discrepancies, outstanding documentation, and compliance matters.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and provide information required for statutory accounts, tax filings, and audits.
• Ensure that local accounting and tax deadlines are communicated to the appropriate finance teams and that required information is submitted on time.
