A leading firm has partnered to recruit an Accountant for their finance team in Barcelona. This role offers a chance to work in a dynamic multinational environment, being responsible for various accounting functions like ledger management and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should possess strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems, and be fluent in Spanish.

Formación

We have partnered with a Big 4 audited international business, headquartered in the UK, to recruit an Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Barcelona. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounting to make a real impact in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

As the Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to key financial decisions. You will be involved in a wide range of accounting functions, collaborating closely with the Head of Finance, and gaining exposure to both operational and strategic aspects of financial management.

Location : Barcelona, Spain

Salary : €30,000

Key Responsibilities :

  • General Ledger management and maintenance.
  • Handle Accounts Payable, ensuring timely processing of payments.
  • Oversee Purchase Orders and review related invoices.
  • Perform Bank Reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow records.
  • Ensure Tax Compliance & Reporting, in line with local and international regulations.
  • Support Month-End / Year-End Processing to ensure timely reporting.
  • Prepare Financial Statements in compliance with company standards.
  • Track and manage Expenses & Capital Expenditure.
  • Provide Financial Reporting and assist in Budgeting & Forecasting.
  • Offer Audit Support and collaborate with external advisors (suppliers, auditors, tax specialists).

The Ideal Candidate :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Exposure to working with external advisors (suppliers, auditors, tax authorities).
  • Previous experience in a multinational environment is desirable.
  • Fluent in Spanish (both written and spoken) is essential; English language skills are a plus.
